My name is Kate Biryukova, and I am a rising 10th grade student. My greateset aspiration is to become a material scientist and engineer.

Mission
"I aspire to become a material scientist and engineer, but, above all, I wish to share my knowledge and fascination about materials with others, regardless of their age, occupation or country of origin. My other goal is raising awareness of how material science can make our world sustainable".
Material Science
I have always been passionate about math and sciences, obtaining top places in state-level competitions and taking the hardest available classes. Nonetheless, when I started reading about material science a year ago, it opened to me a door into an engrossing world of enlightenment and innovation.
Sustainability
I see symbiosis with our planet as one of the top goals of humanity, and I believe that we are in power to create a sustainable future. Just imagine that currently 1.3 million tons of plastic is thrown away to contaminate nature every day, in all parts of the world? Yet, we must also be aware of the different manners to counter the issues that humans have inflicted. Materials uncover some of the most prominent ways we can do this.

My Hobbies
Besides material science, I also do beach volleyball and fitness and have been drawing since I was three years old. In my free time, I enjoy going for walks in parks, reading and watching fantasy movies.
